Stronger together

What is HPP United?

A global community working towards a better future for everyone affected by hypophosphatasia.

Hypophosphatasia (HPP) is a rare condition that can affect people and families in many different ways. Finding a diagnosis, accessing appropriate care and connecting with others who understand the condition can be challenging.

HPP United brings together independent organisations and patient representatives from different countries, helping the international HPP community share experiences, exchange knowledge and work towards common goals.

Why international collaboration matters

Rare conditions can affect relatively small communities within individual countries. By connecting these communities internationally, organisations can learn from one another, share perspectives and strengthen the voices of people living with HPP.

The goal is a more connected community, with greater awareness, stronger advocacy and better support for people and families affected by HPP.

Shared priorities

A common mission

Working together across borders to build understanding, connection and a stronger voice for the HPP community.

Awareness

Raise awareness

Help more people understand hypophosphatasia and the challenges that individuals and families may experience living with a rare condition.

Education

Share knowledge

Encourage the exchange of information, educational resources and lived experiences across the international HPP community.

Research

Support progress

Encourage collaboration and engagement that can contribute to greater understanding of HPP and future advances in care.

Advocacy

Strengthen patient voices

Help ensure that the experiences and perspectives of people affected by HPP are heard in conversations about diagnosis, care and treatment access.

Connection

Unite communities

Build connections between independent organisations and patient representatives so communities can learn from and support one another.

Community

Improve lives

Work towards a future in which people and families affected by HPP have stronger support, greater understanding and a collective voice.

Connected across borders

Soft Bones Australia is a partner organisation

We are proud to be part of the wider international HPP community through our partnership with HPP United.

Soft Bones Australia focuses on raising awareness of hypophosphatasia in Australia, connecting people with relevant information and local support, and advocating for earlier diagnosis and fairer access to treatment.

Our partnership with HPP United connects our Australian work with a wider network of organisations and patient representatives who share a commitment to improving the lives of people affected by HPP.

By sharing experiences, learning from other countries and contributing the Australian perspective, we can help strengthen awareness and advocacy for the HPP community worldwide.

What our partnership means

  • A global connection. Being connected with organisations and advocates beyond Australia.
  • Shared learning. Learning from the experiences, knowledge and initiatives of other HPP communities.
  • An Australian perspective. Contributing local experiences and issues to the wider conversation about HPP.
  • A common purpose. Supporting greater awareness, stronger advocacy and better support for people affected by HPP.

Our organisations remain independent, while working towards shared goals for the HPP community.
